Friday, June 30th, in downtown Nashville fans prepared to rock out with Otherwise supported by Through Fire, Righteous Vendetta, and Conquer the Distance for the “Close to the Gods” tour. Jennifer Pinckney interviewed the guys from Otherwise before their performance, you can check out that interview here
The openers for the night were locals Conquer the Distance from Murfreesboro, TN. Prior to the show I had never heard these guys but they definitely made a fan out of me. The singer, Timothy Ortez was full of passion.
Next act up was Righteous Vendetta, a band who was stuffed full of energy, passion, and so much movement. These guys didn’t care if the stage was small, they still moved around and did what they do best…..ROCK! The crowd went crazy for these guys!
Third act for the night was Through Fire. The group was previously called Emphatic, when they hired vocalist Grant
Joshua Kendrick, they changed their name and the rest is history. Kendrick, has an incredible raspy voice that you don’t hear very often. I definitely enjoyed his voice from start to finish. Their set included a lot of amazing tunes but my there is a tie between my favorites, “Breathe”, “Stronger”, and “Jar of Hearts”.
The headliners, Otherwise, were up next and they did not disappoint. They never do. Otherwise’s front man, Adrian Patrick, looks every single person in the eye as if he is singing to them personally. He also has quite a few moves during each of the songs, it is just one of those things you have to experience. All I can say is that when those boys are up there, they are playing for the fans and they are 200% right there in the moment with them. Their music is in their hearts and you can see it when they play. They opened up their set with “Coming for the Throne” and also performed “Vegas Girl”, “I Don’t Apologize” and of course “Soldiers.” After they finished up their set, they came out to meet and greet fans.
