Have I told you lately how much I love the metal community?  Well, I do.  And here is why….

THE HEAVY METAL COMMUNITY IS THE ABSOLUTELY MOST LOVING AND CARING GROUP OF FUCK UPS I’VE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE TO BE A PART OF!

Yep, we are fuck ups.  We are tattooed, pierced, most of our music consist of screaming and growling, and we wear a lot of black….a lot of black.  Society sees us as satanists, druggies, and just all around non-functioning members of society….but guess what?  THEY ARE DEAD WRONG.

On August 25th, The Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan is hosting the 7th Annual KICK THE F*CK OUT OF CANCER BENEFIT.  Each year the benefit chooses one cancer battling warrior to help out financially.  Every penny raised at the benefit is given to the soldier to help them with their fight.  This years warrior is a fella by the name of Richard Anderson.

Last fall Richard went to the emergency room with stomach pain, he was told he had pancreatitis.  After a five day stay in the hospital, the doctors saw something else and decided to do some additional testing.  A couple months later Richard was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.  Richard completed a radical, seven days a week for six straight weeks, treatment regimen earlier this year.  Despite treatment, his tumor remains the size of a golf ball, although there has not been any progression of the cancer, he continues to fight this piece of shit disease.

It is an 18 and up show, with a minimum $5 donation at the door, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Richard Anderson.  Several area bands will be playing including:  Shadows of Doubt-Flint, Vicariant, Fate of Misery, Dystopian i, and Dragsaw.  There will also be a 50/50 raffle and other prizes/raffles throughout the evening.  Doors are at 7PM.  What an amazing thing The Machine Shop and these bands are doing for a member of our community!

The 7th annual KICK THE F*CK OUT OF CANCER BENEFIT is sponsored by:  The Machine Shop, Banana 101.5, Tiger Auto Salvage, Welcome to This World, 711 Entertainment, Warpillar Promotion, and Goat’s Graphics.

Banana 101.5 has an ad for the benefit which can viewed here.

Please go out to The Machine Shop on August 25th and support Richard, these awesome bands, and all of the sponsors…this is our community and they make me so f*ckin’ proud!
