California- based metallers MOTOGRATER released a new lyric video for their single “Parasite, which will be on their upcoming album Desolation. The video combines the album-based artwork with live video from the band’s performances.

Following two self- released EP’s, this will be the first full- length album Motograter has released since their self titled release in 2003 (which had Five Finger Death Punch’s Ivan Moody on vocals), and with new frontman, Legion.

“The music for the album starting coming about a very, very long time ago… Nuke and Mylon hashed out a ton of ideas, riffs and songs around the time of the New Breed line-up,” said drummer Noah “Shark” Robertson. “Fast forward to Motograter recruiting James Legion and me moving to California to help finish the writing process and BOOM! Desolation is here! It’s taken about 3 years physically make, but it’s been in the works for a very long time.”

When Bloodrock asked about working with the likes of producer Ahrue Luster and album artwork creator Sam Shearon, Robertson noted a very positive experience. “Working with Ahrue Luster was a dream come true. He is a consummate professional and really helped bring our vision to life! He is a talented guitar player and producer and song writer. A good weapon to have on your side of the battlefield! Sam Shearon is a god among men, definitely from another realm. His artwork is dark and creepy and everything he does is just stellar. What an honor!”

Robertson also spoke about the creation of the songs themselves: “we were a bit nervous during the pre-production phase. The songs were just babies and the pre-production quality of the recordings really didn’t do the songs justice. But once we started hearing stuff back from Ahrue, with all the studio recordings and live instruments in place, we began to see the light. These songs transformed from these little songs that could, to these epic abominations of their former selves.”
